 Flour Sack - Pantomime 

This was one of the most fun assignments I worked on just because I made what I always wanted to make - an action scene. I decided to go with a martial arts theme where the flour sack enters the scene with a flip and then flies out of the frame. 

I really liked working on this projects as it was both challenging and interesting to me. I first made the whole scene in a rough manner, and then refined every frame with precise brush strokes just to make it look very clean. 

The flour sack images/poses also represent a fighter. They convey senses of jumping fighting, flying, struggling etc.

Anger Management classes

 Walk From the time I started this assignment, I already experienced a challenge as we had to animate a full body movement and also use pegs to try and show movement.  For this, I decided to incorporate motion with expression as I felt like the movement of body is highly driven by motion. Therefore through the means of facial expression and the smoothness of the animation, I created an angry character who has a strong frustrated expression on his face and is walking with authority as he moves away from an "anger management class" I used frame-by-frame- technique to animate the torso, back, legs, and the head of the character. The rest was made through pegs.  I think I was satisfied with how it looked except that it looked it little less smoothed than I expected it to be. However, I think the resisted motion helped elaborate the character's personality and so I decided not to make any changes.

Hit by a BOWLING BALL

Overlapping Action   I have been wanting to animate characters for a long time and I thought this is my chance to, sort of, get in the process of learning to animate them. Therefore, I went with animating a character that is being hit by a bowling ball.  I enjoyed the process of animating it frame by frame and making the character's expressions and movements. Furthermore, I also liked how it turned out. It did not look very defined but I think I got what I wanted to get out of it through my methods for this project.

Looking away

  Head Turn  This was by-far the most challenging assignment for me. Firstly, I was confused if I wanted to go with a cartoon theme or a realistic theme. I decided to a realistic theme in the end and started designing the character's head.  From the beginning, it was taking a lot more time than any other project. Although, it was challenging, I liked the pressure on me because it kept me going. As I got complete halfway, I started feeling relieved and enjoyable.  Addition to the head turn, I also added an extra expression of anger, where my character opens his jaw. This added an extra emotion and personality to the character.  Overall, I enjoyed pushing my boundaries for this project.
